Lake Park Little League MKE relies on parent and community volunteers to operate the league. Opportunities are flexible. One-time tasks or ongoing. Help needed before, during or after the season. It is appreciated if families can volunteer for at least two hours.
Recruiting: Help grow the league! We need players, coaches, and volunteers! Link/post on Facebook. Contact businesses, churches, and schools. Personally invite people to get involved. Hang flyers.
Coach (Manager): Attends pre-season coach's meetings. Coordinates 2-3 activities per week (games, practices, clinics). Provides a positive sports experience in a FUN atmosphere. Teaches baseball skills, teamwork, and relationship skills. Emphasizes the positive, gives praise and has patience. Experience managing groups of children a plus. Communicates schedules to parents. Regular attendance recommended. Background check required.
Assistant Coach: Immediate Need Assists coach with above tasks. Baseball knowledge not necessary. Regular attendance not required. Background check required.
Player Agent: Immediate Need Working closely with the President, the Player Agent is tasked with overseeing all aspects of the management of players at all levels. Responsible for player age and residency affidavits for all-star tournaments.
Marketing Director: Immediate Need Will oversee the promotion of the league and coordinate efforts with social media, website, and special events.
Special Events: Immediate Need Help coordinate events such as marching in East Side 4th of July parade, hot dog stand at Downer Ave bike race, and Little League Night at Miller Park.
Social Media: Immediate Need Regularly post news items on website, Facebook page, Next Door, league-wide emails, etc.
Website: Immediate Need Manage interface. Write/review/post static content.
Umpire Coordinator: Recruit, train, guide, and schedule umpires.
Umpires: While our umpires are most often former LPLL players all are encouraged to apply. The minimum age requirement is 14 for machine pitch games, and 16 for AAA and Majors games.
Safety Officer: Working closely with President the Safety Officer is responsible for the league ASAP (A Safety Awareness Program) and its procedures.
Scheduling: Obtain and post field permits. Schedule practices, games, clinics.
Equipment: Inventory, order, distribute and collect equipment.
Uniform: Inventory, order and distribute uniforms.
Lake Park Little League is a 503C non-profit organization. Monetary Donations are tax deductible.
